Privacy Policy

What Presswick collects and how it is used — the short version: as little as possible, never sold, and Google Analytics only on the terms below.

This privacy policy explains what Presswick collects and how it is used. The short version: we run a simple, static content site, we do not sell your data, and we collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Three things, at most. First, standard server logs — the anonymised, aggregate data any web server records, such as pages requested and rough traffic volume, used only to keep the site working and understand what is useful. Second, the page-reading statistics gathered by Google Analytics 4, explained in the next section. Third, if you choose to join our price-change email list, the email address you submit, used only to send those updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics and cookies

Presswick measures readership with Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. It shows us the pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off, so the data is not used for advertising, and it is not sold. We do not run advertising networks that track you across the web.

GA4 relies on two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to two years and are placed only after analytics is allowed. If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a banner asks first and nothing is sent to Google until you click Accept. For visitors elsewhere, analytics is on by default and can be switched off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as an opt-out. The choice itself lives in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

Use Cookie settings to reopen the banner and change your analytics choice. Google's handling is described in Google's privacy policy, and Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, the host — not us — may set cookies to attribute the sale, under their own privacy policies. We receive a commission but no personal details about you. See our affiliate disclosure for how that works.

Your choices

You can browse the site without an account or an email address, and switch analytics off at any time. You can unsubscribe from emails with one click. To ask what we hold or request deletion, email [email protected] and we will respond promptly. This policy may be updated; material changes will be reflected on this page.
