Affiliate Disclosure

How affiliate links work on Presswick — and why they never move a ranking.

Presswick is reader-supported. Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links, which means if you click one and sign up for a hosting plan, the host pays us a commission — at no extra cost to you. This page explains exactly how that works and, more importantly, what it does not change.

An affiliate link carries a code that tells the host we referred you. On this site, every affiliate link is routed through a /go/ redirect and marked rel="sponsored nofollow," and we disclose it inline near the link. If you buy after clicking, the host credits us a commission. If you buy after visiting the host directly, they do not — same price to you either way.

What it does not change

Commissions never buy a ranking, a rating, or a kind word. We rank hosts on renewal price and documented WordPress features, and those inputs come from the hosts' own pricing pages, not from what they pay. Commission rates vary widely between hosts — which is precisely why the rankings are anchored to price and features rather than payout. When a cheaper, lower-paying (or no-affiliate-program) host is the right answer, we say so.

They keep the site free and independent. The alternative — display advertising or paid placements — would put more pressure on our judgment, not less. Affiliate commissions let us write honestly and get paid only when a recommendation is genuinely useful to you. For how we work overall, see the about page; questions are welcome via contact.
